Dr. Vincent Richard Injety holds a PhD in Management from the University of Pune and a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education from the University of South Africa. He currently serves as Vice Chancellor of the Adventist University of Africa and was previously President of Helderberg College of Higher Education from 2013 to 2020. Injety has extensive experience in university administration across four African institutions, where he established new academic programs that meet South African Council of Higher Education standards. He teaches Strategic Management, Leadership, and Finance, with research interests in non-profit organization management. Injety has also held roles such as Pro-Vice Chancellor at Solusi University in Zimbabwe and Assistant Professor at Spicer Adventist University in India. An ordained minister, he is committed to the mission of Adventist education.

Mr. Lillo Kuape

Lillo Kuape is the Rector of Maluti Adventist College. He holds an MPhil and Postgraduate Diplomas in HIV/AIDS Management and Nursing Education from Stellenbosch University, along with diplomas in nursing and midwifery from Maluti School of Nursing. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at Loma Linda University.

Kuape has held key roles in healthcare and education, including positions as a Midwifery and Nurse Educator, and he actively contributes to academic governance. One of his major achievements was coordinating a landmark project aimed at scaling up midwifery education in Africa. Launched in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the Seventh-day Adventist Church Health Ministry, and Loma Linda University, this initiative led to the establishment of Centers of Excellence, including one at Maluti Adventist College. He also played a key role in developing the Maluti Adventist College Health Promoters (MACHP) project, which provides free health education to communities, focusing on health, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and Bible studies as part of the institution’s initiative to give back to the community.

Prof Charlene Reinecke obtained her PhD in Psychology from Stellenbosch University. Prior to her present leadership position, she served as the Vice-President of Academic Administration at Helderberg College of Higher Education (HCHE). Previously she had also served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and lectured in the Psychology Department. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, an Honours degree in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Postgraduate Higher Education Diploma, all from Stellenbosch University. She currently serves as the President of HCHE in Somerset West, South Africa.

Dr Mutero is the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) Representative in the PAUC Executive Committee since 2018.  His background is in Religion and Higher Education Leadership. He has worked in Cameroon, The United States of America and now Kenya. Currently, he is the Director of Education at East-Central Africa Division of SDA, Nairobi, Kenya.

Pan-African Association of Adventist Universities and Colleges (PAUC) was created in the year 2018 as an Adventist and Educational association exclusively, to advance the cause of higher education in the Pan-Africa region, namely, on the continent of Sub Saharan Africa, namely in the East-Central Africa Division, the Southern Africa Indian Ocean Division and the West-Central Africa Division, Africa and of other geographical areas designated from time to time by the membership and/or the Executive Committee. Unitedly, the PAUC Executive Committee will function as a higher education leadership association dedicated to the establishment of cooperative and symbiotic relations among the SDA Universities and Colleges of Pan-Africa. The overarching aim of the association is to promote sustainable development and improvement of Biblically-grounded, relevant and contemporary higher education delivery in Africa. While PAUC is an emerging non-profit organization, its Excecutive Committee is comprised of highly seasoned senior leadership from various African Adventist Universities and Colleges. This team will take an active leadership role in the management and oversight of the organization mission.
PAUC started in the year 2018 to advance the cause of higher education in the Pan-Africa region, namely, the continent of Sub Saharan Africa, the East-Central Africa Division. The Southern Africa Indian Ocean Division, and other geographical areas designated from time to time by the membership and/or the Executive Committee.
The overarching aim of our association is to promote sustainable development and improvement of biblically grounded, relevant and contemporary higher education delivery in Africa

Our Objectives

To advance the mission and quality of SDA higher education within Africa.

To harmonize priorities for policy formulation and standardization among our PAUC member institutions.

To promote a shared commitment and leverage shared resources for advancing administrative, Faculty and staff development and training.

To improve collegiality and networking among all Our institutions with both formal MOUs and Informal partnership.

To improve strategic visioning for 21st Century SDA education with a commitment to advancing Shared online and distance learning offerings.

To actively collaborate in such areas as e-learning. Resources and other relevant educational technologies and helpful benchmarking practices.

To promote a shared scholarship/research agenda That enhances research capacity of both small and Larger institutions.

To receive and administer gifts, monies and/or Property to be devoted to the purposes of PAUC and the advancement of other Adventist higher education indicatives.

Research Partnership

Research and scholarships are key aspects of quality higher education. As such PAUC links experts from its various institutions to partner on drafting research proposals, doing shared projects, seeking donor support for faculty research.

Lunch & Learn

Lunch and learn is a training opportunity provided by PAUC for leaders and faculty from member institutions. Leveraging the talent of leading; exploring lunch hours seminars as instrumental in improving Adventist higher education in Africa.
